How to do a quick braid plaited bun

HOW TO DO A QUICK BRAID HAIR BUN

In my endeavour to improve the Vlog experience for you I’ve been working on Adobe editing software instead of cheap & cheerful Youtube. Now sure that is exciting, fun & gets my creative juices flowing…However, my stupid & very basic laptop does not like it & has refused to play nicely Hmmph

You know what it is? It’s me saying to myself “Yeah I know I’m not ready to do a fancy edit but fuck it I’m doing this!” As usual I learn as I go & make do with the equipment I have. Otherwise what’s the alternative? I figure if I wait to have all the right lights & the high end laptop It’ll be another year before I up my game! And quite frankly, I just don’t have the time to waste. The alternative is to just do it now, I mean in that year I could have perfected my technique & the time won’t have been wasted right? Besides I’m not scared of a little criticism, why should I worry about something so trivial? It’s not really important in the big scheme of things, you lot are always beyond kind & supportive & actually that’s all I care about in the end. We’ll get there together right?….eventually.

So let’s crack on, here goes another Vlog. After I finally exported the finished video I realised I should have edited it much more tightly but because I’m already way behind publishing I decided to go with this one. The next edit will be snappier, I promise. Hope you like it & apologies for taking so long to get it out I aim to make 2017 my year of Vlogging.

Here is close up detail of the braid hair bun from my earlier shoot.

I’m your number one fan Michelle! When I see you there juggling the braid, the dog, the light etc and still managing to remain natural, I’m thinking: how on earth does she do that? I would screw up the video a hundred percent. And OMG the dog, you have to show him next time. That’s the most adorable thing. You’re such a pro, I’m impressed. Looking forward to seeing some more! xx Abby

Oh Abby thank you so much! You’ve brought me back from the brink (again) just when I thought it was a complete fizzer. You know I was going to show Blue (our dog) but think I’d have been in a right pickle by then Hahahaha. I actually considered re-shooting but I do want it to always be natural & a re-shoot would’ve been a bit forced if you know what I mean? Lighting definitely needs more work, either that or I go blonde! Thanks for your support honey xxx

Thank you thank you thank you! I have had 3 unsubscribe today Nancy so I appreciate your comment more than you know 🙁
Not sure if it was my swear word in the copy, my boring banter in the Vlog or the hairstyle itself that’s put people off? Oh well onwards & upwards I go xxx

Michelle, I’ve looked forward to your Vlog. I enjoyed that you are very genuine and don’t let the day to day get in the way! My boy Gibby would probably cry if he wasn’t on my lap! This is a very pretty style that adds some fun to a bun style and looks do-able with some practice on my part! I like to experiment with my hair and my stylist will show me something that looks very easy….Until she leaves. Then I’m thinking..How? Keep up the good work, it’s lovely on you

Thank you so much Jess! I appreciate your input especially as it’s a hair Vlog & your hair always looks perfect. xxx

First, I love the hairstyle, and FULLY intend to try it out on myself. I’ve done a watered down version of it before, but yours is much nicer. I don’t think the lighting is so bad, but I’m sure if you get a lightbox or two, you’ll be sorted. What about trying to do one outside on a sunny day? I think it is great, and every video you get better and better. Another vote for Blue to make an appearance here xx

Hahaha yes Blue will definitely be up for that, I just asked him 😉
Shooting outside is a great idea! Imagine the neighbours will be curious what the hell I’m doing talking to myself. Oh wait, nope I do that all the time, they won’t notice anything new…Hahahaha

Hi Michelle, just wanted to say, although my hair is short at the moment (but growing it again for the umpteenth time, yoyo hair…) I had a look at the video and I think it is great, and enhanced by your dog getting in on the act ;o) I think you are absolutely right to just go for it and, as you say, learn as you go along. You’re a natural on video. I agree with a previous comment about your hairdresser showing you stuff that seems simple in salon but as unfathomable as quantum physics as soon as you get home, so vlogs like this are a great idea xx

Hahahaha Rozanne “Quantum Physics” cracked me up! This is great to hear & you’ve given me the idea to do a basic braid tutorial. I’m thinking slow motion on the criss cross of pieces then speeded up at the end. I must say with this new software & a couple of lights I should be able to show the detail better on the next one. Keep growing that hair, I need your input! xx

I did this with my hair yesterday. Apparently doing something different than my normal causes quite a stir! A co-worker said it was cute. One of my daughters asked if I did it myself (she might have had a stunned/in awe tone…) and said it looked beautiful. My other daughter commented also and said it looked good. And my husband, who NEVER comments on my appearance (and will fake like he’s asleep if I ask him a pointed question about it) said, “did you guys sit around and do each other’s hair today at work?”. He didn’t say it looked good or anything, but the fact that he even noticed said something. And, to be honest, I felt pretty with my hair like this. Thank you so much!!

Weeeee! She claps hands & squeals 😉 I am so made up by your comment Sally, this is what it’s all about girl!
So glad you had fun & by the way I totally get where you’re coming from with your description of Hubs’ reaction. I knew you were going to say the fact that he mentioned it at all was HUGE! He better watch out, you’ll be getting noticed by other blokes too xx

Thanks Jacqui, I think this vlog could be improved quite a lot. It’s an easy up do but my tutorial isn’t great. Perhaps I should re-shoot it?
